Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
This policy explains how Dylan Leigh Barber (ABN 75 258 494 349), a sole trader in Bunbury, Western Australia, handles your personal information. I follow the Australian Privacy Principles as a matter of good practice.
What I collect
- Contact details: your name, business name, email address, phone number and, for site visits, your business address.
- Business information you share with me during an audit or a build: menus, rosters, recipes, workflows and similar.
- Billing records: quotes, invoices, and what you've paid and when. Card payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.
- Emails you send me.
This website doesn't use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies of its own.
Why I collect it
To reply to you, quote and deliver work, bill you, provide support, and meet my tax and record-keeping obligations. I don't sell your information, and I don't use it for marketing unless you've asked to hear from me.
Who handles it on my behalf
I use these services to run the business. Some of them store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States.
- Stripe: card payments, invoices and subscriptions.
- Google Workspace: email, calendar and document storage.
- Anthropic (Claude): my AI assistant, which reads and drafts emails and prepares quotes and invoices. It always identifies itself as "Dylan's Assistant (AI)".
- Cloudflare: hosts and protects this website.
- Google Fonts: loads this website's fonts, which shares your IP address with Google when you visit.
I also share information when the law requires it, for example with the ATO.
How long I keep it
I keep billing and tax records for at least five years, as Australian tax law requires. I delete other information when it's no longer needed, or sooner if you ask and I'm not required to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can also ask to deal only with me rather than the AI assistant. Email hello@dlbarber.dev and I'll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, email me first and I'll work to fix it. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
